OUR HISTORY

Restoring Hope Community Church of the Nazarene was formed through the merging of two church families with a shared desire to see people encounter the hope and transforming grace of Jesus Christ.

History of Hope Community Church (HCC):

Founded in 2003 by Brian Shaw, Hope Community Church began with a heart for serving families in the Surprise community and faithfully proclaiming the gospel. Starting in a local school before moving into its own building in 2005, the church developed a strong foundation of biblical teaching, compassionate ministry, and Christ-centered community.

History of Restoration Nazarene Church (RNAZ):

Founded in 2020 by Cody Abrahamson during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Restoration Nazarene Church also began meeting in a school setting. With a focus on prayer, discipleship, and reaching young families, the church grew with a passion for helping people deepen their relationship with Christ and live out their faith in everyday life.

Becoming Restoring Hope (RHCC):

In January 2024, after a season of prayer, discernment, and shared vision, these two congregations united to become Restoring Hope Community Church. What began as two separate ministries became one church family, combining their histories, strengths, and passion for ministry into a shared mission: to be and share Christ with the community and beyond.

Today, Restoring Hope continues to build on that foundation through worship, discipleship, outreach, and authentic community as we seek to help people discover the hope found in Jesus Christ.
